Firefighters have rescued a seriously injured man from a burning garage in Edinburgh.
“One casualty was treated at the scene by Scottish Ambulance Service personnel and thereafter taken to hospital for treatment.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A substantial explosion is said to have occurred with a nearby electricity substation also damaged.
A Scottish Power spokesman said: “Damage to the substation, which is next to the garage, caused by debris from the explosion, affected the supplies of 340 people in the area on Sunday.
“The substation is now operational but will require further repairs.”
Specialist forensic officers were at the scene yesterday as the investigation continued.
The condition of the injured man was not known.
