Mary’s lovin’ weighty title

The manager of a city branch of McDonald’s has scooped the top title in a national 
powerlifting contest.

Mary Anderson, 44, was crowned Miss Britain Physique at the British Natural Bodybuilding Federation Finals in Manchester last weekend.

The Tranent strongwoman, who runs the fast food outlet’s Meadowbank restaurant, will now head for Miami to compete in November’s World Bodybuilding Championships.

Ms Anderson said: “I was up against experienced bodybuilders, so I was delighted.”
