Match day mare as Murrayfield rugby fans hit by rail delays

Two major routes to the Capital were affected with overhead wire problems causing misery for thousands among the 67,000 sell-out crowd.
Wire problems were affecting services from Helensburgh and Milngavie as the rail operator struggled to get the electric trains back on track.

Hide AdTrain services between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh and Milngavie and Edinburgh via Airdrie and Bathgate were cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Bathgate.
The rail operator told passengers that their tickets were valid on First Bus between Bathgate and Edinburgh and Bathgate and Falkirk, as well as on Lothian Bus and Edinburgh Trams between Edinburgh Park and Haymarket.
Disruption was expected to last until 2pm, just minutes beofre the match’s 2:30pm kick-off.
