May Day march still strikes chord

THE annual tradition of a May Day protest march was kept alive in the Capital on Saturday when hundreds of local protesters took to the streets.

The march was led by Dalkeith Pipe Band and set off from Johnston Terrace for a rally at the Pleasance Theatre, where speakers included Greg Philo, City of Edinburgh Unison, Occupy Edinburgh and Edinburgh Against the Cuts. There were also workshops led by Edinburgh CND (Trident) and Unite against Fascism.
