Mental health charity 'super grateful' after Edinburgh Airport donates more than 70 seized tools
The tools were donated to The Men of Leith, a charity hoping to improve men’s mental health through repair work
More than 70 tools confiscated from passengers at Edinburgh Airport have been donated to a local charity project aimed at tackling loneliness among men.

The tools donated to The Men of Leith Men’s Shed include everything from screwdrivers and spanners to trowels and a nail gun.
Located in Newhaven, the Men’s Shed sees volunteers repair items brought in by local residents for only the price of the parts to tackle loneliness and encouraging men to work on projects together.

"We love tools at the Men of Leith Men's Shed, and these are especially good,” the charity’s chair Alastair Innes said.
He added: “We're sure the owners were upset when they were confiscated, but they can be sure they will be put to good use in our repair shed, fixing broken items brought in by the public, and we are super grateful to the airport for thinking of us.”
The Men’s Shed is one of more than 2,000 sheds across the world, which aim to help men improve their mental health by ending their isolation and encourage them to open up to each other while working on projects.
Soon to repair its 1,000th item, it has now been running for 10 years, with the charity’s Newhaven base also providing music and cycling groups specifically for men.
“It's great to know these tools will continue to be put to good use while supporting a local organisation,” the airport said in a social media post.
