Midlothian traffic: Traffic heavy on A702 outside Edinburgh after lorry collision near Easter Howgate

The A702 in Midlothian is closed after a reported crash.

The incident, which involved a lorry, happened on the A702 near Easter Howgate at around 9.30am this morning.

The road has been closed to allow the lorry to be removed. For several hours beforehand, the A702 was partially blocked, causing heavy traffic in the area. Drivers were urged to approach with care.

Police Scotland said a lorry jack-knifed at around 9.25am, and there were no reported injuries.

On Twitter, Road Policing Scotland wrote: “#DalkeithRP attended a report of a lorry that was obstructing the A702 near Easter Howgate this morning. The lorry is still in situ and temporary road closures have been implemented to allow for recovery of the vehicle, which is on going.”
