Moredun Dykes Road: Police and firefighters called to Edinburgh garage blaze after early hours reports of house fire

Emergency services tackled a double-garage fire in the early hours of Friday on Moredun Dykes Road in Edinburgh.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a house fire at just after 2.30am but when crews arrived on the scene they reassessed it as a double-garage fire.

No injuries were reported and Police Scotland has said that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the SFRS said: "We received an initial report of a house fire on Moredun Dykes Road in Edinburgh at 2.41am on Friday, June 25.

"We had three appliances in attendance along with a height appliance.

"We extinguished the fire and there are no reports of any casualties.

"Our last appliances left the scene at 5.30am today, we are no longer in attendance."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers attended at Moredun Dykes Road in Edinburgh at around 3.35am on Friday, June 25, 2021 following reports of a fire at a double garage.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
