Motorway madness drunken joyrider jailed for eight months

A DRUNKEN joyrider who sped the wrong way on a motorway forcing oncoming motorists to brake and swerve out of his way has been jailed for eight months.

Stuart Fradley, 18, from Niddrie View, Winchburgh, drove a 
stolen car at excessive speed on the wrong side of the road even before joining the M9 Stirling to 
Edinburgh motorway.

Police launched a pursuit but called it off to contact medical assistance for Fradley’s friend Brian Armit, who had fallen out of the car and was lying injured on the road.

Fradley was caught after he failed to negotiate a junction, mounted the footpath and crashed. He earlier pleaded guilty to stealing a car at Millgate, Winchburgh, while on bail in November 2011 and driving dangerously. He also admitted having no licence or insurance and being over the drink drive limit. He was also banned from driving for 22 months.
