MSP in call to end blockade

LOTHIANS Labour MSP Neil Findlay has tabled a motion in the Scottish Parliament calling for an end to the 50-year US blockade of Cuba.

The motion notes last week’s 186-2 vote at the United Nations General Assembly urging, for the 20th consecutive year, an end to the economic and trade embargo. Only the US and Israel voted against.

Mr Findlay’s motion says the consequence of the embargo has been a deterioration in living standards of Cuban people.
