Murray’s 40p mall deal boost
THE prospect of Edinburgh’s £50 million, publicly-owned Princes Mall shopping centre being sold to business tycoon Sir David Murray for 40p has moved a step closer.
A Scottish Parliament committee has backed a change in the law which will hand leaseholders ownership of land and property held on leases with more than 100 years to run.
The committee of MSPs rejected calls from the city council for Princes Mall to be made an exception.
