NHS bosses plot future

HEALTH chiefs have begun a consultation on how to reshape the NHS to meet future challenges.

The health board wants to prepare for three key challenges – a slash in budgets, a growing elderly population and a change in workforce.

Bosses said they were speaking to a range of organisations and professionals in Edinburgh to gather a wide range of views.

Tracy Gillies, NHS Lothian’s associate divisional medical director, said: “We want to plan for this now so we can continue to provide high-quality care.”
