Nicola Sturgeon ‘stalker’ faces sheriff

A MAN has appeared in court charged with stalking Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

Dogan Arslan, 46, appeared in private at Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday, making no plea or declaration.

Mr Arslan had spent the night in custody and was brought to court from Cathcart police office. Strathclyde Police confirmed he had been arrested on Thursday.

Arslan was granted bail by Sheriff Lindsay Wood.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Government said no comment would be made.
