Nicole smoked out at shop

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman has been out for a spot of shopping, after her arrival in the Capital to begin filming her latest movie.

Bob Webster, manager at the Gosford Bothy farm shop and cafe near North Berwick, in East Lothian, served smoked salmon and freshly squeezed juice to the Australian actress – currently in Scotland with husband Keith Urban to shoot scenes for her new film The Railway Man.

The film – which tells the story of Eric Lomax, the Edinburgh-born army officer who was tortured while a prisoner-of-war in Japan’s Changi camp during the Second World War – also stars Colin Firth.

Mr Webster said: “Nicole and Keith were unassuming and friendly and nobody recognised them until they were leaving. Our butcher served them some local produce like smoked salmon and freshly squeezed juice.”
