Oliver Stone to visit Edinburgh to discuss Edward Snowden film

HOLLYWOOD filmmaker Oliver Stone will discuss his career in an event hosted by Edinburgh University next month.

The three-time Academy Award-winner shot to fame in the 1980s directing films including Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July.

He will discuss his career with experts from the University of Edinburgh at an event in Edinburgh’s Filmhouse on Wednesday, March 9.

New York-born Stone, who has written and directed more than 20 movies, will also talk about his current project, the political thriller, Snowden - based on the life of Edward Snowden - ahead of its nationwide release later this year.

Tickets to be part of the audience will go on sale Thursday via the Filmhouse website: www.filmhousecinema.com.

During his stay, Stone will also take part in workshops with students at Edinburgh College of Art and the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures.
