Open day a towering success

LIBERTON Tower was one of dozens of venues across the Lothians which threw open its doors over the weekend.

Lydia Ingram was taking in the main bedroom as she visited during Doors Open Day.

Built in the late 15th century as a home for the Dalmahoy family, Liberton Tower has been hailed as “the most perfect and unspoilt tower within the precincts of Edinburgh”.

Before it was restored as a luxury holiday home earlier this year, it was used as a farm store, piggery and cow shed.
