A big thank you for all of the kind messages after my election to the Scottish Parliament and being sworn in as a new MSP.

It is a huge honour to represent Edinburgh Central the area I grew up in, and I look forward to working for everyone in the constituency regardless how they voted.

To win the seat with a record majority for the SNP is testament to the hard work of many, many volunteers who were out in rain, hail and shine to ensure the victory in what was previously the seat of the former leader of the Tory party. I am hugely appreciative to them all.

There are huge opportunities for Edinburgh as a whole as we emerge from the pandemic, with businesses hopefully bouncing back soon from the lockdown and also with Scottish government plans for the housing sector. We need to make sure it is a capital for everyone who lives here and I will work with Edinburgh Council, other agencies and community organisations.

The centre of Edinburgh is home to many of our national institutions and the thousands of jobs that go with them.

One of the priorities I have as new MSP is to help prepare Edinburgh for the huge advantages that will come with becoming the capital city of an EU sovereign state. In the meantime, if you are a constituent who needs help, advice or support please don’t hesitate to get in touch. While it will take a few weeks to get an office up and running, I am at your service.
