Edinburgh's play parks need public toilets nearby – Hayley Matthews

With the school holidays approaching and the weather getting colder, it's quite hard to keep kids entertained just now as it is, never mind with more restrictions.

We've been going up to see my dad and his partner for coffee but with that now being on hold I'm searching for other indoor activities.

I'm keeping everything crossed that the trampoline parks don't all of a sudden start selling alcohol over the next few days (as nice as that would be) because they're really one of the only places that we can go just now that is still open.

I prefer indoor activities in the colder months like the majority of us but I also am always on the lookout for my next loo stop, like any mum who's living on coffee and Red Bull!

Edinburgh's reopened public toilets see increased usage on last year

Don't get me wrong, outdoor activities are great but when you've had two kids and your waterworks aren't as strong as they used to be, you need a public loo close by.

I think we've visited every play park in Edinburgh and the only one that has a loo right next door to the park is the one at the Meadows.

Just an FYI for Edinburgh council, when you have a huge play park, there are going to be lots of mums and dads, many of whom are going to have bladders that resemble water-balloons that are about to burst.

So please if you have any spare cash, can you put a loo beside the big play parks or you'll find me digging a hole in the grass like Snoopy trying to hide a bone!
