I've got a confession about an unwanted extra that came with the chips I served up to my boys – Hayley Matthews

I'd noticed a post on Facebook earlier in the week where someone was complaining about a hair in their curry. However, it clearly wasn't a hair.

Looked like a thin bit of the root of a potato. However, without being a food inspector, I'm not sure I could confirm.

The unidentifiable object, however, wasn’t what got the most comments, it was the fact that someone actually posted the picture, complained and named the restaurant.

Everyone was outraged. Personally I'm grateful I have food and clean water and feel that complaining about something like this just gets you one step closer to your "Karen badge” so I could understand why the person who'd posted the picture was getting it tight!

Lots of comments were saying just take it out and eat it or call the place and tell them, which I have to agree with.

"It's just a hair – what's the big deal?" was commented several times.

However, a few days later I found myself in a similar situation. As I snuck a chip from a box that I'd bought on the way back from a walk, it left me green round the gills. I'd bought them to go with a pizza I had at home for the boys.

As I felt smug sneaking a chip, a black, wiry, coarse hair winked back at me from the polystyrene foam box. Yes, it was a massive pubic hair! Massive!

I quickly threw it away as the Facebook post popped in to my head and, not wanting to be complaining about the incident, I put the chips in the car (minus the spider legs) drove home and served them up with the pizza.

I won't tell if you don't…
