Lynne McCrossan: Anna comes up trumps with a ‘ta da’ moment

When making a commitment the best way to ensure follow through is with a “ta da” event.

These ‘ta da’ moments come in many different guises like going away parties, graduation balls or weddings. I think they were invented simply to propel you to your ultimate goal.

So, to guarantee I don’t crumble while creating a capsule clothing collection I thought it best to enlist a maverick to manoeuvre me through the mountainous task.

There was only one woman for the job, fashion maven Anna Freemantle.

The model and Edinburgh International Fashion Festival Director is the human equivalent of the yellow pages a la mode. A handy lady to have as your arsenal.

Cuppas were consumed as our children played with the plethora of retro toys in Pearce’s on Elm Row.

Fresh from shooting the pages of British Vogue Anna was back in the Capital to help hatch my plan of action.

With her “anything is achievable” attitude we battered out the basis for the collections unveiling. Terrifying and exhilarating in equal measures.

An exhibition plus a catwalk show will bring together the body of work at Edinburgh’s International Fashion Festival come August.

Now the ‘ta da’ moment has been created I’d better get a wriggle on with the rest. Wish me luck.
