We seem to be living in a new Age of Rage. Please let's be nice to each other – Hayley Matthews

I'm noticing so many people arguing when I'm out and about.

I know we've all had a testing time recently but I've never experienced so much negativity and anger.

I was only in the door two minutes at Tesco Musselburgh when a women threw her hands in the air screaming that I had walked too close to her (hardly), and it seems to be happening everywhere.

People being rude to each other and so aggressive, it makes me not want to go to the shop at all.

A friend had also told me about a post on a Midlothian buy/sell page asking people to be nicer to each other that commented on the negative behaviour on the page.

The poster said how she'd been reading so many comments of people chiming in with ill-informed and nasty remarks on items people were trying to sell to make some money.

She said if you don't like something, then just don't comment. However, it's like some people just can't help themselves right now and their nastiness is spilling out everywhere.

I think this lockdown has brought out the best or the worst in some but if you're a negative nelly with a bee in your bonnet, then do us all a favour and keep it to yourself!

Negative energy is like poison and you'll only pull yourself down. So please let's be nicer to each other in the supermarket and less trolling people trying to sell their belongings online.

And as my nana used to say. "If you've got nothing nice to say, then don't say anything AT ALL!"
