Why I'm hoping a UFO will give me the skin of a 20-year-old – Hayley Matthews

I've been lacking self-care recently as brushing my hair, putting on make-up and making sure I'm looking after my skin have all felt so pointless.

Nowhere to go, no one to see, what's the point? A kick up the bum has been well needed as I sit here with more spots than I had when I was 15!

With beauty appointments feeling like you're going in for a lung operation, I've decided to do some at-home beauty to make myself feel better.

I've tried needle derma-rollers, serums and retinol (sounds scary but it's not). Also, after eyeing up for years the Foreo face devices in Boots, I've finally got my hands on the UFO 2 which has been coined the ultimate at-home facial treatment device.

I'm too scared to use any devices that put electric currents through my skin as I have a leaking filing and the paranoid android in me thinks I'll do some damage so I've been using the Foreo after reading everyone rave about it and I think I might just look as fresh-faced as Lana Del Ray once this lockdown is all over.

With beauty and make-up sales going through the roof during the pandemic, there should be no excuses for not knowing what to get us beauty fans for Christmas and if any of my friends’ husbands are looking for brownie points – get your Mrs a UFO and enjoy being left alone to watch the football whilst we all transform ourselves into 20-year-olds! Now all I need are two new knees and I'm sorted!
