How about spending money on real priorities instead of tourist-based crap that has a limited benefit to residents? There are still people sleeping in doorways yet some want to spend £millions making this route look pretty! Unbelievable. How many residents who pay for this will want to repeatedly stroll down a pedestrianised link from Waverley to Holyrood Palace? It’s catering for a minority interest and asking the majority to foot the bill and inconvenience.

On this occasion, they're probably right. The Royal Mile would be far better if it was mostly pedestrianised. The same doesn't apply to George IV Bridge, George Street, South Bridge, Waverley Bridge, Silverknowes Road though - the changes being made to all those routes are ludicrous.
