Hibs fans fury at SFA's 300 tickets per club plan for the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden Park

Leanne Stones

I’m a Jambo but must say this is just ridiculous. What’s the point!

What do you expect, it's the West of Scotland football association.

Kevin Somerville

It's a farce. Could easily be much more and very safe.

David Barr

I’m sure this is just in case the Hibs win, the polis can man mark the fans one for one to keep them on the right side of the wall and off the pitch.

John Wilkins

I think Celtic had that many on their trip to Dubai at Chrimbo.

Laurence Aitken

SFA at it. Do you think Celtic or Rangers would be given the same allocation?

There is still a need to be cautious, otherwise there is a risk that we will have another wave of infections and death. The Indian variant is causing concern and has appeared in Glasgow. Do we want thousands of fans going to an event in Glasgow and then returning home possibly with Covid? At this early stage on the road to recovery, the choice is simple, limited small steps or postpone the event until we have suppressed the virus.

Scott Dall

Only one stand available, so it’s 12,000 seats and 600 fans seems low but either take it or don’t. But last week it was 0. Good luck to those that get it. Let’s support from home and bring the cup home.

James Manson

Safer to give out tickets now, as the Covid levels are rising again, and we've opened up, so there will likely be more Covid around in a few weeks time.

Tom Lawrence

300 key workers to be selected. Best we can do in the circumstances. Bit of a shambles though.

Yip, shocking. Massive stadium. Easily could have more fans in.

Alexander Watts

Seriously, if there are only 600 fans then it must cost more to open Hamden than any revenue received; move it to Dunfermline or Cowdenbeath – they’d be glad of the money.

Kenneth McCann

I am surprised that any supporters are going. In South Australia we had to have zero community transfer for over a month before crowds were allowed into sports events.

Kevin Walker

From a Hibs fan, if there were no fans there, no one would say anything, as we expected no fans. Now 300 can go, everyone is going nuts. As long as the club brings it home is all that matters.

So how was the Crucible allowed full capacity, and that’s indoors?

Barry Kirk

It will be like a home game for Hibs then, all those empty seats!

Lynsey Maclennan

Yet 6000 can fly to Portugal for a game.

Ian Munro

It’s been proven that chances of catching Covid in open air are greatly reduced, but they insist on two-metre distancing, when people indoors in pubs will be much closer than that. It’s these ridiculous decisions that make people ignore their rules and do their own thing. Might as well gave no spectators than a poxy 600.

Gary Hamilton

In other news, St Johnstone have sold out their allocation and have 120 tickets going free.

Jackie Brown

That is ridiculous. Could easily have more fans since it is outdoors and they can be seated safely.

Councillor suspended

Edinburgh Labour councillor Gordon Munro suspended for three months over refusal to vote for coalition budget

Graeme Robertson

Good grief - someone who will stand up for their principles rather than just toe the party line like the rest of the brain dead, fatuous cowards.

Dave Moffat

Good for the councillor for speaking out. Need more of them to do that . Councillors used to be elected to represent their constituents and get the best deal possible from the government.

I agree that more money should be put in to Scottish towns and cities and a lot more put in to homelessness. It is out of control and still we are no further forward to making it better for people.

Cathy Buchanan

Well done Gordon for standing by your commitment to the people of Leith. I am an SNP supporter but would fight for any cause to help people in need.
