“We won’t have the city centre strewn with litter”. If ever a comment from one of our councillors shows how far removed from reality they are it is this. The utter stupidity of that statement is breathtaking. What he really means is that we won't have the city strewn with litter for the tourists. Still waiting on you answering my e-mails re the underfunding of the cleansing dept. Cammy.

What? Drawing up plans to stop overflowing bins if a strike goes ahead, how about doing something about them now? The streets and parks are an absolute disgrace with overflowing bins and litter everywhere. Get it sorted as our city is a disgrace.

I think the councillors should start earning their over inflated wages and take a long walk round Edinburgh to see the mess it is in without a strike. I don't mean a wander round princes street, George Street, Regent Road etc, I mean Muirhouse, Pilton, Drylaw, Wester Hailes, Moredun, Niddrie, Wardieburn etc. See the mess the city is really in.

No one throws litter around so expertly as the British. I've been six times in Germany and on one day in one holiday I saw one item of litter. In all those holidays I did not once see anyone who looked like their job was to pick up litter. I easily figured out why. There was no litter. This is a concept that we Brits find hard to undestand.

i went to the shop this morning and saw broken glass, dirty nappies, take away containers, food packaging, food such as chips and pizza crusts all over the pavements and bin areas- Icould go on. It seems what the council are saying doesn’t quite match the facts.

I have to constatly report overflowing binsat the Shore. Totally disgusting that you have to report this as the Shore is a busy place and the bucket they put there also says dog poo bags.

You'll need a bigger motor than that and lots of them. They canny cope any other time and this will be no different. If the job’s to be done then give the cleansing dept the funds they need.
