Professor Jason Leitch has said it will be “some time yet” before Scottish sports fans are allowed back into stadiums
Craig Stadler
At the moment “some time yet” is about as specific as he can get due to a variety of reasons. Until he is able to say more it’s not really worth reporting is it?

Hide AdNever misses a chance to speak to the press. Fairly certain he's hoping for a place on the next celebrity reality show.

What does he mean by "some time yet"? Does he mean we will be able to get fans back in stadiums by August ie the start of next football season or when? Authorities of football, rugby etc basically all professional spectator sports, need to have to some clarity as to when they can expect to have crowds back in stadiums. Far too much vagueness. We were told throughout the last year that vaccines were the only way out of this disaster, now we are being told they won't be.

Hate these stupid questions while people are still dying. You will get back when it’s safe, so stop whinging or posing stupid questions.
Iain Fisher
it will only happen once all of the UK has been vaccinated - likely by Xmas 2021. Then, and only then, if the UK borders are shut. Otherwise if people can still enter then it will only happen once the globe has been vaccinated, which is mid-2022 most likely and only once the UK government are willing to relax restrictions as the case rate is less than common flu.

Hide AdWhen will he tell us how many outside transmissions have occurred and if social distancing was applied within a stadium what the likelihood of transmission would be? Also if all the vulnerable classes of people have been vaccinated and you have repeatedly told us restrictions are in place to "protect the NHS" and "vaccines are the way out of this" on about 25 adverts on STV everyday, then why would we not have crowds back in about a month if vaccinating 50k per day? He loves his 15 months of fame and the sound of his own voice. Perhaps best sticking to root canal surgery if he can't explain the data that his gloom and doom forecasts are based on.
Ian Freestone
This morning he said it wasn't about vaccinating Scotland but about vaccinating the world. Now he is on about crowds. For a dentist he has an opinion on everything. Someone needs to reign him in.

Can we get business open without worrying about sport? They are all paid very well. I think the focus should be on the low paid, those in danger of losing jobs and the poor. He really is a waste of space.

I think we've all done very well tbh. It's clear from the stats that outbreaks have not been through household mixing. Look at how it's gone on the continent: riots and demonstrations - and their restaurants etc are still open!

I hope they throw the book at them, along with a substantial fine to keep company with a police record.

Why can’t folk just follow the rules? Folk are losing their lives and these folk don’t care as long as they get out.

What a waste of police time – try catching real criminals.
