Owen gits on with race for his father

A RUNNER is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for Diabetes UK in memory of his father, who died from the disease four days before his 50th birthday.

In a tongue-in-cheek but heartfelt tribute to his father, Owen Redpath has called a series of races he will undertake The Challenging Git.

Mr Redpath, 33, said John Graham was “a very special man”, who lived to help others by challenging them to help themselves.

He will take on eight challenges in his father’s memory, including Saturday’s Bupa Great Winter Run. He kicked off the series at the Loony Dook on New Year’s Day and will peak with a coast-to-coast race across Scotland in September.
