POLICE and paramedics were scrambled to the city centre this afternoon to reports of a pedestrian and car colliding.

Officers were spotted talking to witnesses close to St Andrew's House at around 2pm.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Emergency services are dealing with the report of a road traffic crash on Waterloo Place in Edinburgh.

"A pedestrian has been struck by a vehicle. No reports of injuries at this this stage."
