Patient who vanished from Edinburgh Royal Infirmary found safe and well

Police thank public for their help in successful search

Police reported finding David Wheeler this morning

A MAN missing from Little France has been traced safe and well, police have confirmed.

David Wheeler, 64, vanished at around 11am yesterday walking towards West Granton Road from Crewe Road North.

He suffered a stroke in January and left his ward at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary around 9.55am before catching the number 38 Lothian bus to Crewe Road North.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals and assisted in our enquiries."
