The abandoned animal was handed into Drylaw Mains Police Station after a passer by found him crying in the street.

Police bundled it up in a blanket and took it to the PDSA in Gorgie to make sure it was taken care of.

They tweeted: “This abandoned fox cub had a brush with the law last night.

"Officers had a sly plan & took him to PDSA HQ.

“We hope he's doing fantastic.”
