The picture, snapped by Edinburgh resident Ross Ballantine, shows an RAF aircraft passing over a ScotRail train as it prepares to land at Edinburgh Airport.

The plane is an RAF C-17 Globemaster III, a long range, heavy-lift strategic transport aircraft.

The photo was taken as the plane came into land at Edinburgh Airport just passed 13.20 on Thursday.
