Appeal to find owner of pup that hopped on board a Lothian Bus service alone

Bosses at Lothian Buses have asked the public for their help to reunite a dog with its owner after the intrepid pup hopped onto one of its services unaccompanied this afternoon.

The dog is thought to have jumped onto Service 10 in the Craiglockhart area of Edinburgh at around 4:20pm.

The pooch is currently being looked after by officers at Gayfield Police Station while its owner is found.

In a tweet accompanying a photo of the dog in a Lothian Buses tie, the company told followers: “Nope this isn't a new recruit.

“This pup jumped on a Service 10 in the #Firhill #Craiglockhart area at approx. 1620 today!

“Staff at Gayfield Police Station are currently taking great care of the #LostDog until they can be reunited with their owner.

“Please share! #LothianBuses”
