Craig Eddie is one of just four contestants who will battle it out to take the top spot in the hit show this Saturday – and proud parent Tracey has full belief her boy can go all the way.

Just days after watching the 23-year-old win the public vote to progress past the semi-final, Ms Eddie has complete conviction the ex-St Mungo’s High pupil can see off fellow finalists Hannah Williams, Okulaja and Grace Holden to win and walk away with a professional recording contract.

“I feel very confident because when I look online he’s the favourite to win with the bookies.

“When I look at The Voice’s Instagram and Facebook pages, the support for Craig’s incredible and it’s filling me with hope.

“The support in Falkirk is off the scale. I never expected this level of positive support.

“It’s been from the get-go. When the blind audition was shown, by the time his piece was finishing, his phone had more than 1000 notifications.

“Even I’m finding it very overwhelming. We feel the pressure to respond to everybody very quickly because we want them to know we’re grateful to them.”

Craig has blown away The Voice’s judges and viewers since his blind audition.

However, his mum revealed the former Greggs worker first stunned an audience aged just three in The Howgate Shopping Centre, Falkirk.

The toddler’s rendition of Enrique Iglesias’ Hero wowed all in close proximity – as did his performance of Sir Tom Jones’ Sexbomb a few years later at his granny’s birthday party.

Ms Eddie explained: “He stopped dead in the middle of The Howgate and started singing along to the song playing through the sound system.

“Very quickly a crowd gathered round about him. Everybody was applauding.

“It went quiet on the music front and then when he was 13 he asked for a guitar for Christmas.

“Within a few days he could listen to a song by ear and play it. He can’t read music but he can listen and copy it spot on.

“One night he said, ‘I’ve recorded myself singing and put it on Facebook’. I thought, ‘What has he done?’

“I was quite astounded when I listened. From then on he was constantly singing in his bedroom.

“He had to build his confidence by posting videos. Even part of the way through this competition, he hadn’t realised how good he is.”

As the leader of Team Craig, Ms Eddie will travel down south with her son for this weekend’s showcase.

She hopes fellow Falkirk district residents will download The Voice UK app, vote for Craig and “make our hometown proud”.

“You feel like you’re going to have a heart attack.

“I really want to thank our community from the bottom of my heart. Their support is incredible.
