Balgreen: Train delays after vehicle carrying crane hits bridge in Edinburgh

ScotRail tweeted that a vehicle had hit a bridge near Haymarket around 10am on Saturday.
They warned: "All services to/from Edinburgh from Fife and from Edinburgh Park are affected.”
Engineers were on site to assess the damage.

Hide AdA spokesperson for Network Rail confirmed that a vehicle carrying a crane hit the bridge on Balgreen road.
It was deemed that there was minimal damage and the train lines are safe to reopen.
They added that British Transport Police would be on hand to assist Police Scotland in any way they can.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "Officers are currently in attendance after reports of a vehicle hitting a rail bridge in Balgreen Road in Edinburgh.
"Enquiries are continuing.”
