Police have confirmed the body of a woman has been found this morning, Saturday April 25, in the search for missing Edinburgh woman Elaine McArthur.

The family of Elaine, who has been missing since Saturday, April 18, have been made aware of the discovery though no formal identification has been made yet.

Elaine was last seen outside a shop on Crewe Road North last Saturday before walking along Royston Mains a short time later.

Police have confirmed that a post mortem will be carried out in due course and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
