Body recovered from the Firth of Forth: Police appeal for help with identification

Police are appealing for help identifying a man whose body was recovered from the Firth of Forth on Wednesday morning.
A report of a body in the water off Preston Island was received at around 8.40 am.

Hide AdThe man is described as white, 5 foot and 10 inches tall and aged between 40 and 60.
He has dark hair which was beginning to turn grey and he was bald on top.
He was dressed in black, Nike trainers, black three quarter length Lonsdale jogging bottoms and a black Lonsdale hooded tracksuit top. He also had a Primark khaki green t-shirt with the words “Downtown” and the number “1989” written along it with a picture of a skyline.
The death is being treated as unexplained by Police Scotland.

Hide AdCowdenbeath Inspector Gavin Cameron said: "If you have any knowledge about who this man is, or any information about why or where he went into the water, please call police on 101, quoting reference number 0602 of 5 August.
“We really want to let his family know what has happened to him."
