Full-time mum Ms Elliot was at home clearing up after a dinner party with neighbours when her CCTV monitoring system notified her of movement on the screen.
She rushed to check what it was, having recently installed the system due to problems with car theft in the area.
But instead of the human figures she expected to see, the cameras had alerted her to activity much further away.

Ms Elliot said neither her nor her neighbours heard any noise to suggest the light was a firework.
"I've been googling it all day, and there have been meteor sightings all over the UK," said Ms Elliot.
"I didn't sleep over it, I was googling meteors."
The UK Meteor Network received 40 reports of fireballs across the UK on Monday night.
