Emma Erskine, 35, was worried that her daughter's favourite Christmas present was lost for good and couldn't believe her luck when she was informed that Pets at Home staff in Linlithgow had found Blusha the unicorn.

But due to heavy snowfall at their home in Winchburgh the family was unable to collect the beloved toy until yesterday morning.

Luckily shop employees took good care of the treasured toy in her four day stay and made sure she wasn't lonely while waiting to be reunited with Ivy.

Blusha was taken on a tour of the shop, photographed helping out with staff duties and enjoying her holiday in the store.

When Ms Erskine took Ivy to collect Blusha yesterday morning the schoolgirl was delighted to see pictures of her toy’s adventures.

Ivy also received a basket of colouring pencils, balloons, sweeties and other goodies to take home with Blusha.

She said: “Ivy was so upset when she lost her unicorn, she hadn't had it out of her hands since Christmas morning.

“It might sound daft but as her mum I was devastated that she lost something she loved so much.

“I was so touched when we picked up the toy and saw what the staff had done to make the moment so special for Ivy. It was very unexpected but so sweet and kind.”
