Just when you might have thought trip to the panto this year was already behind you, Dalkeith Country Park is getting set to host its very first drive-in panto this winter.

In an attempt to keep the Christmas tradition alive as theatres across the country remain dark this December, drive-in festival The Parking Lot Social will bring Cinderella to Midlothian from December 16-24. Described as ‘a socially distant, uproarious live show,’ the drive-in Cinderella will boast all the essential elements while including new twists to the usual format and a troupe of nine professional actors.

Each performance of the show, which will feature song and dance routines, audience participation and a script that takes a light-hearted dig at some of the challenges thrown up by this strangest of years, will also be filmed live – the onstage action appearing on two 40ft screens.
