DJ Bowman gets in a spin over Capital’s festivals

RADIO 1 DJ Edith Bowman has fronted a new online advert promoting Edinburgh’s festivals.

The Scottish star features in an advert that has been supported by Festivals Edinburgh, VisitScotland and Marketing Edinburgh and attempts to show the number of festivals there are in the city.

In the video, she says: “My first experience of Edinburgh and its festivals was when I was here at university, where I threw myself into everything that this incredible city has to offer.

“I have so many fond memories of everything from nights at the Pleasance to lying on my back in Princes Street watching the fireworks cascade, to watching my very first ballet.”

During her visit, she said she was surprised to learn about the volume of things to see and do during this year’s festival.

She was also given a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Museum of Scotland, which reopens on July 29 after a multi-million pound refurbishment.

She also went to the 19th-century Signet Library, just off the Royal Mile, and the Missoni Hotel.

At the end of her visit, she said: “It’s impossible to not find something you want to see in Edinburgh all year round.”
