East Lothian news: Appeal launched to trace 72-year-old Alexander Smart from Haddington

Officers are looking to trace a man reported missing from East Lothian.

Police are working to trace a 72-year-old man from Haddington. Alexander Smart was last seen at Dunollie Gardens around 11.25am on Thursday.

He has been described as being five foot eight inches tall, with dark hair and was wearing a green T shirt, brown cords and brown shoes.

Inspector Alex Dickson from Musselburgh Police Station said : “We have issued a photograph of Alexander but he no longer has a moustache.

“We are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and we would appeal to anyone who knows where he is to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting 1188 of Thursday, 27 October, 2022.”
