We asked our readers what they thought the ugliest buildings in Edinburgh were, and they didn’t hold back!
Certainly, a lot of the newer structures were mentioned several times, with people saying they spoilt the Capital’s historic skyline.
Worth noting however, we decided not to add either Tynecastle Park or Easter Road, as we didn’t quite trust the reasons behind people voting for them!

5. Haymarket development
"Whatever is being built at Haymarket" was also a biggie on the list... Photo: Google

6. Argyle House
Another large, rather austere here - Argyle House, just up from the Grassmarket. Photo: Google

7. Scottish Parliament
Another controversial building here. The Parliament was formally opened in 2004, and many were not impressed by the design. Over the years however, it seems to have nestled into its surroundings with visitors from all over the world coming to see it - many locals are still not particularly impressed however.
