Staff and residents at Barchester’s Strachan House care home in Blackhall have been helping and supporting care assistant Catherine McCulley as she bravely shaved off her gorgeous long hair to raise money for the charity.

Strachan House asked friends and neighbours to help Catherine raise funds with her initial target set at £200, however she raised this in her first day of her sponsorship.

This made Catherine more determined to raise even more money for such a great charity which is very close to her heart. She has so far raised £1,160.

Eileen Crawford, general manager at Strachan House said: “Our team at the home have all been supporting Catherine with donations to help smash her target of £200. Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic charity which we try to support in any way we can.
