Edinburgh Police launch appeal to trace missing 85-year-old man John Gifford

Police are searching for missing man, John Gifford.

Police in Edinburgh have launched a public appeal to help trace a missing 85-year-old man.

John Gifford has been reported missing from Captain’s Drive, in the Capital’s Gracemount area.

John was last seen at about 8am on Sunday 24th May 2020. His current whereabouts are unknown and his friends and family are very concerned for his safety.

John is described as being a white male of slim build, 4ft 10 inches tall and walks with a stoop. He is believed to be wearing blue walking trousers, blue jacket and black shoes.

Acting Inspector Mitchell from Howdenhall Police station says, "John has been missing since 8am this morning, this is completely out of character for him and his family are understandably worried about it.

“We have a number of police resources out looking for John and I am now looking for the assistance from the public. John lives in the Captain’s Drive area but is known to frequent the local public parks and walks".
