With Oasis star Liam Gallagher set to be the voice of trams in Manchester making announcements on journeys in the city, we asked our readers who they would like to see do tram announcements in Edinburgh.
And they didn’t disappoint, with some great suggestions including stars of TV and film, authors, footballers and musicians. And with the help of AI, some of you even suggested using the voice of Edinburgh’s most famous son, the late, great Sir Sean Connery.
5. Boogie

6. Ken Stott
Rebus actor Ken Stott was suggested by many of our readers to read out the announcements on Edinburgh's trams. 7. David Gray
Hibs fans were quick to suggest club legend 'Sir David Gray' as the perfect person to voice the tram announcements in Edinburgh. The defender, who is now a coach at the club, went down in history as the scorer of the winning goal in the 3-2 Scottish Cup final victory over Rangers at Hampden in 2016, which ended the Leith club's 114-year Scottish Cup hoodoo.
