Fundraiser to bring body of Arkadiusz Blicharz who went missing in Edinburgh back to Poland raises over £4000
Arkadiusz was last seen in the Gorgie and Dalry areas of the Capital in the early hours of Sunday October 4, but police sadly confirmed last Thursday that a body retrieved from the Water of Leith had been identified as him.
His body was found near Saughtonhall Avenue at Murrayfield on Thursday October 8 at around 12pm and police had cordoned off the area.

Hide AdOn Thursday, a spokesperson from Police Scotland confirmed that the body found in the water near Scotland’s national rugby stadium was his and that the family of the 24-year-old in Poland had been made aware as had his close friends in Scotland.
They concluded that there were ‘no apparent suspicious circumstances’ and a report would be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
A fundraiser on a Polish website which is named ‘Let's bring Arek home’ has raised over 21,000 Polish złoty (PLN) in a matter of days, which is the equivalent of more than £4000 – more than double the original target of 10,000 PLN.
Organiser Łukasz Pietroń wrote on the fundraiser: “Arek was a wonderful person, warm and friendly. Unfortunately, he was taken away from us. We want to help him to come back home for the last time.
