Now Ms Wielgosz has offered the cash reward for her safe return.

Wyzel went missing alongside the River Esk, by the Monktonhall golf course into the wooded area there.

The 12-year-old pooch is a small to medium tanned mixed-breed with a white chest area.

Ms Wielgosz said: “When she went missing I spent weeks out in that park searching until late at night. I got so tired and had to stop. I have a 5-year-old son to look after. We have been out many times in the area to help leave traces of our scent but she hasn’t been seen since 30 January now. I’m so worried. I have cried a lot.

"My son has been asking about her. It was his birthday on the 12 Feb and I’d hoped Wyzel would be home by then but no news, nothing in over a month. We told my son that she’s on holiday.

"She is so energetic, always going off running after rabbits. I think that’s what she was doing when she got lost. I really hope someone has taken her in.”
