Homeless people give virtual tours of Edinburgh during lockdown

Invisible Cities, the social enterprise that helps people who have previously experienced homelessness become walking tour guides of their own city has gone virtual.

The charity’s new project will see them partner with live-streaming platform Virtualtrips to deliver virtual tours of the city.

Viewers can tune in from anywhere around the world to experience a digital trip through the capital and an interactive chat.

All of the tours are currently free to watch, though tips are encouraged, and are led by people who have experienced homelessness.

Founder & CEO of Invisible Cities Zakia Moulaoui Guery said: “Our virtual tours of Edinburgh will allow us to continue our work, giving a voice to those who have felt invisible and offering some much needed entertainment for people across the UK and beyond.”
