In tribute, members of the 105th Regiment Royal Artillery fired a 41-round gun salute at Edinburgh Castle on Saturday.

Gun salutes also sounded across the UK and in Gibraltar and firing ended at 12.41pm, with one round fired per minute from noon.

Edinburgh's Lord Provost Frank Ross led the Capital’s tributes, offering “heartfelt sympathies” and saying the Duke left a “longstanding legacy”
