Police have confirmed that an Edinburgh school girl who went missing earlier on Tuesday has now been found safe and well.

Kiara Hall, 14, had been last seen in the Brunswick Road area of the city around 11.45 am on Tuesday and was dressed in her school uniform.

Police launched a public appeal for information earlier today.

But a statement released on social media this afternoon said: “We are pleased to confirm Kiara Hall reported missing from Edinburgh today has been traced safe and well.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our earlier appeal.”
