The SNP politician completed 100 jumps on a pogo stick!

Nourish Family Support Centre supports families with children and adults who have additional needs, and it launched the appeal last week to ensure that they do not go without this Christmas.

The group’s appeal comes hot on the heels of its big move to new premises which saw it raise £15,000 to make the transition to a better suited building.

Lynne Scott, centre manager said: “A lot of families who visit us are struggling financially as well as facing all the usual challenges at the moment, so we are doing what we can to support them over Christmas.

"We are looking for donations of food, toys and money to help our families through the festive period.

"We have had a huge response already from people who have kindly donated towards the appeal.”

Lynne added: “We can’t thank David Torrance enough for his continued support. He is always doing what he can to help us, and we are so grateful.”She said his efforts helped to keep the group in the public eye.

"This was another crazy challenge, and for him to do this for us means so much. He is raising awareness of what we are doing and raising awareness of the need for support for families with additional needs.”

Mr Torrance admitted he’d practiced on a pogo stick before taking on the challenge.

He said: “My friends bet me £200 that I couldn’t do 100 jumps, so I have had a lot of practice and a lot of sore elbows and bums with all of the falling over that I have done.”

He added: "Nourish is a great charity and the money will be well used to support families with additional needs. The group’s Christmas appeal is really important because there are families out there with very little.

"If people in the community donate to Nourish, they can make sure that it goes to families who really need it.”
